Sojuzpatent is the oldest of the leading IP law firms rendering services to the Russian citizens and foreign clients in the field of the intellectual property protection, namely: inventions, utility models, industrial designs, trademarks (service marks), appellations of origin of goods, selection achievements, domain names, software, data bases, integrated-circuit layouts.
Currently the staff of Sojuzpatent consists of almost 100 qualified specialists including 45 registered Russian and Eurasian patent attorneys and litigation lawyers. Our patent attorneys are the highly qualified in covering with their expertise all fields of science and technology comprising high tech. Most of the specialists working in Sojuzpatent have the practical experience in the patent and litigation sphere as the former employees of Rospatent, as well as the Federal Institute of Industrial Property, the Control Board of the Scientific and Technical Experts, the Chamber of Appeal and the Supreme Patent Chamber, the Chamber for Patent Disputes; the All-Union Center of Patent Services; patent departments of large industrial enterprises and the experience in the capacity of the assesors and judges in Arbitration Courts.
The applied by Sojuzpatent software is worked out with regard to the specific business processes, the constantly growing volume of services and operations as well as the requirements of the contemporary record keeping. The data bases of the automation system of Sojuzpatent contain the regularly updated and enlarged information on the objects of industrial property.
Sojuzpatent is a co-organizer and sponsor of the annual International Industrial Property Fair "Archimedes". In the frames of the agreement on cooperation with the Russian Academy of Sciences the developments of the academic institutes from different regions of the Russian Federation are presented by Sojuzpatent at the exhibitions. Sojuzpatent is constantly conducting the seminars on IP matters and patent legislation issues as well as presenting information stands at the exhibitions and fairs in Russia and abroad.
To assist our clients most effectively in different parts of Russia Sojuzpatent is operating several local representative offices in the federal districts of the Russian Federation and abroad (for example: Europe, USA).
Company History
The activity of Sojuzpatent began in the 20-s years of the last century with the establishment of the Patent Bureau and then into Sojuzpatent with the organizational legal form changing according to the legislation in force.
For more than 70 years Sojuzpatent has been the only patent and trademark attorney’s firm in the USSR authorized to deal with protection of the intellectual property and assisting Soviet inventors to ensure patent protection for their inventions, industrial designs and trademarks registration (indicated on exported goods) as well as to render IP services to the foreign persons. Thus, we are cooperating with number of constant clients during 70 years and more, for example, Chrysler Corporation has been enjoing our servcies since 1925, the Russian Academy of Sciences ( and its predecessors) – since 1959. The main goal of Sojuzpatent was and remains the provision of the IP rights protection in Russia and other states both for the domestic and foreign applicants.
During decades of cooperation with the State Commeettee for inventions and discoveries, the All-Union Center of Patent Services, international trade organizations and industrial enterprises Sojuzpatent has accumulated the unique experience in rendering patent services and mastered the rights protection practice in courts and administrative bodies as well as established strong connections with the leading patent attorneys firms all over the world.
The prolonged activity of Sojuzpatent has contributed to the unification of the of the material and legal norms regulating the protection of the inventions, promoted the ensurance of the widest and fstest way of their use as well as obtaining and selling of licences.
Sojuzpatent was and remains the headquarters of the national group of the International Association of the Industrial Property Protection (AIPPI) since the date of the foundation in 1965 and organized with purpose to reinforce the international cooperation in the field of the intellectual property objects protection.
Sojuzpatent and the predecessors has been always focused on the thorough studying and unification of the patent practice with reference to the specific spheres and IP legislation, on participation in work-out of methodological basis as well as on assisting organizations dealing with patenting.
